Diving into the realm of Instagram after months of dedicated blogging feels like embarking on a thrilling new adventure. With the goal of expanding my blogging business and eventually becoming an Amazon influencer, I'm eager to share my journey with you all.
As I start on my Instagram journey, I'm reminded of the goals I set for myself in my Blogging Goals, Income and Expense Report for February 2024. Among those goals was the aspiration to kickstart my Instagram presence, a plan I'm now taking action on.
While I may not have begun immediately, I utilized the time to absorb what I've learned from YouTube videos, equipping myself with the knowledge to create a comprehensive 30-day plan for Instagram. With a goal of posting 5 reels per week, I'm excited to dive into this new chapter of my blogging adventure.
Why Instagram, and What's the Plan?
As I pondered the next step in my entrepreneurial journey, Instagram stood out as the perfect platform to amplify my voice and connect with a broader audience. Plus, with dreams of affiliating with Amazon, I knew building a social media presence was crucial.
My Plan for Instagram Success
To kickstart my Instagram journey, I've outlined a plan of action:
- Amazon Associates: Sign up for Amazon Associates to generate affiliate links.
- Content Creation: Create captivating product collages and share them on Instagram, accompanied by engaging reels.
- Building a Following: Once I reach 1000 followers on Instagram, apply to be accepted into the Amazon Influencer Program. (Note: My follower count was 62 in February.)
- Amazon Influencer Role: Once accepted, I'll have the opportunity to produce review videos for various Amazon products, further expanding my content offerings.
Choosing the Perfect Username and Account Type:
After taking advice from Chalene Johnson, who emphasized the importance of personal connection on Instagram, I've brainstormed a few username options:

- WhiskAndGlowWithKatie
- HelloKatie
- KatieOsborneOfficial
I settled on the username "KatieOsborneOfficial," aiming to infuse a personal touch into my brand.
Opting for a Business Account
In deciding between a business account and a creator account, I've chosen the former. I believe it will provide me with more tools and insights to effectively grow my brand on Instagram.
Why Instagram Over TikTok?
While TikTok boasts immense popularity, Instagram's sense of community and less daunting comment sections align better with my goals as a budding influencer.
The Connection Between Amazon and Instagram
With both Amazon and Instagram at the forefront of my strategy, I'm excited to intertwine the two platforms to maximize my potential as a blogger and influencer.
