Hi, I’m Katie — a lifelong foodie, flavor chaser, and nutrition nerd who believes that healthy living should absolutelyinclude indulgence.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences from the University of Guelph, and a Graduate Certificate in International Food Law from Michigan State University. I’ve spent years working behind the scenes in the food industry — in regulatory affairs, product development, and foodservice — helping bring safe, nutritious, and crave-worthy products to life.

That experience sparked a deeper love for food and a better understanding of what makes it nourishing, safe, and truly satisfying.

My Food Philosophy

I believe food should be enjoyed, not feared.
No rules. No guilt. Just balance.

To me, healthy eating doesn’t mean restricting yourself — it means nourishing your body most of the time, while still enjoying the foods you love.

That looks like:

  • Eating what you love, without restriction
  • Prioritizing veggies, hydration, and whole foods
  • Saying yes to indulgences, without the shame
  • Exploring flavors from all cultures and cuisines

I’m a flavor-seeker through and through. I gravitate toward bold, exciting tastes — often the kind you don’t expect. I love experimenting with new ingredients, recreating restaurant favorites at home, and drawing inspiration from my travels, favorite eateries, and even retail food products.

If it’s unique, craveable, or culturally rich, you can bet I’m either eating it or figuring out how to make it at home.

Why I Created This Blog

After years of blogging on various topics, I always found myself coming back to what I love most: food.

This blog is a reflection of that passion — not just for cooking and eating, but for all the behind-the-scenes elements that make food trustworthy, safe, and nutritious. I’ve always been fascinated by the accuracy of food labels, how nutrition claims are made, and the regulations that ensure we can make informed choices at the grocery store. That interest has only deepened my respect for food — and my desire to help others understand it, too.
