Welcome to the May 2024 blogging analytics report! In this post, I'll be sharing an in-depth look at my blog's performance over the past month, including detailed insights into my expenses, income, and follower counts across various social media platforms.

How I Did This Month
This month has been a bit of a rollercoaster for my blogging journey. Here are some highlights and challenges I faced in May:
- Loss of Motivation and Momentum: I struggled with maintaining my motivation and momentum for blogging. This resulted in fewer blog posts than I had initially planned for the month. It's been a tough period, but I'm working on strategies to regain my drive and consistency.
- Limited Blog Posts: Due to my lack of motivation, I didn’t post nearly as many blog posts as I feel I should have. I’m learning to be kinder to myself during these phases and recognizing that it's all part of the process.
- Instagram Progress: On a brighter note, I made significant progress on Instagram, which I'm really happy about. My engagement rates have't changed nor have I gained new followers, but I am proud that I actually started posting and making reels.
- Pinterest Comeback: I also saw notable progress on my Pinterest account. I'm thrilled to report that I'm back up to the level I was at before my last Pinterest account got suspended. This has been a major win for me, as Pinterest is a crucial platform for driving traffic to my blog.
Overall, May had its ups and downs, but I'm focusing on the positive strides and looking forward to building on this progress in the coming months.
May 2024 Financials
Income:
- I earned a few more amazon associates commissions this month! I did way better than expected, which is super exciting! Although it won't be paid out this month, I earned a total of $4.68 USD in commissions.
Expenses:
- None to report this month! Because I purchased hosting, tailwind on a yearly basis, I do not consider these to be "monthly" expenses.
- I didn't make any new purchases for blogging this month.

- Views: 487 (less than last month)
- Visitors: 294 (less than last month)
Follower Counts
- Pinterest: 32 Followers (When I switched my personal account (had over 60 followers) to a business account, I immediately lost half my subscribers for some reason)
- Instagram: 70 Followers (+1) - I have noticed that I gain a couple followers during the month and then they unsubscribe a few days later.
- Facebook: 1 Follower (no change)
- TikTok: 0 Followers (I don't use this account so I don't expect any progress on it)

- Total number of new posts on the blog: 4
- Sessions: 369 (↓)
- Users: 301 (↓)
- New Users: 298 (↓)
- Average Engagement Time: 45s (↓)
- Event Count: 1.8K
- Bounce Rate: 48.51%
Amazon Associates
- Link Clicks: 239 (+124)
- Conversion: 5.02% (-1.94%)
- Commissions: $4.68
Pinterest Analytics
My Pinterest account was suspended on April 20th so I had to start over. I used my personal account that I've had for years and simply updated the boards, profile, and username. Because of this, my follower count looks like it jumped up this month but I'm just starting from a new level.
- Impressions: 36.14K
- Engagements: 2.19K
- Outbound clicks: 250
- Saves: 164
- Total Audience: 24.5K
- Engaged Audience: 1.53K
One thing I want to note is that I didn't realize that I hadn't scheduled out posting pins on the Tailwind App, so I had no pins being posted starting on May 24th. I'm not sure that affected my impressions as I saw an increase on May 25th, and then a decline by the end of the month.
Here is a closer look at my outbound clicks, which is the stat I care about the most.
Email List
- Total Subscriber Count: 72 (+12)
- I started emailing my list!
- I aimed to start emailing my list 2 times per month (or biweekly)
- Total broadcast emails sent: 1
- Again, I was struggling with motivation this month. So many days I just didn't want to work. I will *hopefully* do better in the future to reach my goals.
Goals for Next Month
- 3 posts per week on Instagram
- 1 high quality blog post per week
- My main goal is to work even though my motivation is low.
