Say goodbye to loose recipe cards and printed out sheets. Tired of sorting through dozens of pages to find the recipe you're looking for? Finally get your recipes organized with this DIY Recipe Binder!
A good friend of mine uses the recipe binder method to organize her recipes and I love the idea! I have been writing recipes by hand into a lined notebook and it takes so much time. I am always finding new recipes online and it would be so much faster and easier to just print and insert into a binder than to sit and copy out a recipe for 10 minutes.
Anyways, she has more than one binder since she cooks a lot, so I added a spot to write the volume number for each binder.

- A printer with ink and 8.5x11-in paper, or print at a location such as staples.
- A sturdy 3-ring binder (choose from 3 sizes or cut to make the spine fit your size binder. Purchase binder separately. I like a 2 inch binder that has plastic insert areas on the front and back cover, as well as the spine.
- Plastic page protectors (for all your printed recipes).
- Sticky Divider tabs (Optional, but Recommended): Enhance the organization with divider tabs for each category. These tabs will help you quickly navigate through your recipes, saving you precious time.

Assembly Instructions:
- Sign up and download the printable PDF file.
- Print all pages, or choose only the pages that you want to include.
- Front Cover- add your name, and volume #, set aside.
- Spine- Choose the spine that is closest to the size matching your binder. Cut it out and set aside.
- Decorate the outside of your binder. Collect Back, and front cover + spine. If you bought one with plastic pockets on the outside, slide into position. If your binder doesn’t have plastic pockets on the outside, then you can skip this step.
- Open binder rings and insert all plastic pocket inserts into binder and close rings.
- If your binder doesn’t have plastic pockets on the outside, then now is the time to place the front cover into the first empty plastic pocket inside your binder.
- Start sliding each of your divider sheets into place for each recipe section.
- Stick sticky tabs onto each of these diver sheets to identify each recipe sections.
- Start placing recipes inside plastic pockets into the correct section. I like to add 1 recipe per pocket (2 if you only print one-sided recipes.)
That’s it! Now you can enjoy your organized recipe binder.
